It is a very nice experience to get to know the environment by bike or on foot. There are several landed estates to visit, for example “Land en Bosch”, “Gooilust” and “Boekesteyn”. Also the lakes of Kortenhoef, Ankeveen and Loosdrecht are nearby. The little villages Ankeveen, Vreeland, Laren and Blaricum are definitely worth a visit. Don’t forget to take a look at the fortresses of Naarden and Muiden.

Artslovers can eat there fill of the galeries and ateliers in the neighbourhood. Don't forget about the Singermuseum in Laren. You can also visit Hilversum‘s Dudok monuments and have a look at the mediamuseum. The bigger cities Utrecht and Amsterdam are reachable by car or by train in less then half an hour.
